Quick last minute advice needed between two lower-end videocards for Civ 4

Hey all...this PC is for my pops, and I'm not sure what the deal is with these low end cards, but he will have a Dell 2007FPW, and hopefully he'll be able to play Civ 4 at the 1680x1050 native reso. If not, it's not the end of the world, but these are the options:

MB PCI Express? x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon X300 SE HyperMemory [Included in Price]

or

256MB nVidia Geforce 7300LE TurboCache [add $48 or $1/month3]

Basically, is it worth it to get the nvidia?

Thanks!

7300LE @ 1680x1050, i doubt CIV 4 will be playable at all

Neither of those cards is going to get anywhere close to running games @ 1680x1050.

Maybe play windowed mode, or just use the hideous stretch modes...

Meh, either way, it's a majorly mismatched situation.

Nope neither one will run the game at 1680x1050. You will need at LEAST a 6600GT/7600 Vanilla.

A 6600GT is comfortably enough, that is what I am using.
