Quick Ipod Question...

Got a Ipod 30 GB Photo as a gift yesterday.

Was playing around with it when I noticed something weird...

When the headphones are disconnected, the Ipod pauses itself, however on plugging back again, it stays in the pause mode.

Isnt is supposed to start playing again?

Is this normal? If not, any hints on what I should do?

UPDATE:

Now, while playing, all of a sudden, the Ipod pauses itself. It resumes playing normally after pressing play, but its Very irritating. I first thought my headphones were the culprits, but it happens even with the Ipod's own headphones.

This happens in multiple songs, not in any particular one. I have already tried resetting it and the software is updated....

What I should do?
