Quick Ipod-auto interfacing question.

Which would be higher quality, a cassette adapter, or a wireless FM transmitter, when used for playing my ipod through the stereo in my new expedition?

I am only asking, because I don't know if I should buy an Itrip or something similar, or if I should just use a cassette adapter.

In my previous car, I hardwired in an FM modulator, but I do not feel like pulling apart the dash on this new vehicle.

And please, no SUV or ipod rants.

Thank you,
Brian

You have to hook it up to the headunit directly. FM modulator still doesn't sound that good compared to a direct input.

Check out Dension IceLink at www.densionusa.com or other products like that. It's worth it IMO

I can get one of those adapters that utilizes the cd changer inputs, but I do not feel like shelling out that much cash, or disconnecting the factory 6 disc changer.

FWIW it is the Premium factory headunit, with 6 cd changer.

I guess if I tolerated using that FM modulator on a crappy stereo system for 2 years, I can survive on the cassette adapter. I'm sure I won't use the ipod in the car so much anymore when I get Sirius in a couple of months.

Thanks again guys.

yeah, all my friends rave about their itrips, but they really seem to suck.

While I suppose the tape adapter may look a little ghetto, lookz < performance.

Stern fan huh?

Nah, not so much.

I just really dig the music selection, and the reasonable price.
