if you want to wipe a hard drive I suggest Darik's boot and nuke

it's a floppy that does one thing...wipe a hard drive. 🙂

Thanks for the link. I had searched Anand, but came up empty (I have seen links in the past, but they must have been too old to show up in the search results). I do have Maxtor's PowerMax, but was looking for something else to try (PowerMax is very nice though - lots of diagnostic tests)

PowerMax actually has a low level format thingy in it... writes all zero's to the drive i believe
