I am currently in Manhattan with my sister and wish to connect to the inernet using her account in aol with out loading there junk. Can I just use dial up connection? I tried doing this but I get a wrong password error. Does aol use a encryption in their browser?
Currently using long distance thru my provider in MN. Any body know a way around this? There should be easy way to connect or does aol force you to use theer browser.

Please help a Member on vacation

AOL uses their own authentication system and you will not be able to connect via dial-up-networking. You can either load the aol software, use a local number and connect, if the software is already loaded just sign on under guest. You may also dial into the local ISP/whatever she uses for internet and use aol's webmail and AIM Express to get nearly the same functionality as AOL.

Thanks for response,

She only has AOL is isp so from what you are saying there is really no other way either than loading aol software that sucks. I only have the 4.0 version which doesnt seem to be compatible with w2k. Darn gotto hunt down earlier version.

Thanks
