Using a 24 pin mb power connector? Extra 4 pin 12v connector hooked up? Power connector hooked up to the vid card? Did you bench test it with minimum components?

I had this problem but I had forgot to connect the 4-pin CPU power connector. I put in just one stick of RAM and made sure the front panel speaker connector was hooked up right so I would hear beeps if there were some but the connector seemed to fix the problem.

I think that PSU should be enough to get the system up and running at least but maybe not. I have an Antec 550w which seemed to work OK but yours COULD be a little under power I suppose...?

I made sure a dozen times everything is connected. I tried a different video card, different ram.. havent tried a different psu yet, though.

when i was putting the cpu in, a few of the pins got bent and it was a huge pain getting them perfectly alligned so it would fit into the socket. it eventually did but im wondering if that has something to do with it.

i will make sure that part of the mobo is not touching the case.

Bending CPU pins during installation is very bad. (and VERY easy to avoid if you're careful) It's likely that you killed the CPU by bending them and trying to bend them back.
