Quick help needed. How do you activate system restore in XP?

Start, control panel, performance and maintenance, on the left at the top it says "system restore" click there.

Last option on the right if you're using the XP theme...

Or, start, all programs, accessories, system tools, last option in the list is system restore...

Ugh

I think what I just did messed everything up.

I can find System restore but it doesn't give me the option to activate it. Its just there with it listed as monitoring.

To access the restore portion its under Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.
Course that will only work if you have system restore turned on, check by going to control panel>system and click System Restore Tab to verify its turned on.

I think it's also in msconfig

Yet another way, thanks.

Start, run, type in "msconfig" without the quotes obviously, at the bottom on the left click "launch system restore"

Unless it's been turned off on purpose (which I'm sure Doggiedog would be aware of), it's on by default but you do have a good point..
