quick help! how much to replace both front wheel bearings?

Why'd they go bad? I don't see any reason they should. $500 sounds rather high tho.

I have no idea. I am getting a lot wheel/road noice though, and I also thought it was the bearing before I ever brought it in there for service.

I'm at 75k miles, and haven't had any real problems with the car so far, so maybe I should just be happy and pay to have it fixed? I hate cars!!!

both went bad at once? That is strange.

To test if they are really bad, jack up the car and wiggle the wheel from top to bottom. If there is play or bad noises, you need new ones.

Shop around. Check with an auto parts store to see what the parts cost. I paid $175 just for 1 wheel bearing on 99 explorer because of abs system ( parts only).
