Quick help from Canon A40 Owners!!!

The end that plugs into the camera is smaller than a standard usb connector.

So you need the one from Canon. But you don't have to buy it -- it comes with the camera.

Not the regular USB cable.... the A to B one.... like this. I know the camera comes w/ one..... I have it sitting in front of me.... I just need 2 extra ones

Oh, my bad. I don't see any reason why a generic one wouldn't work.

Of course, you could opt to buy a card reader for around $20, and those download pictures much faster than Canon's ZoomBrowser software.

to see if they are compatable w/ the camera!!! they look like they are same from the exterior but they might have different "pin" configuration on the interior of the small end so b/f i bought them, I was wondering if they were compatable

The Canon A40 uses a 6 ft. USB 1.1 cable type A-to-mini-B. It is a standard size/type for cameras/camcorders, my Sony DV camcorder uses the same type of cable.
