"This problem is not inherent to Activities, it applies to any property of a user where there is a one to many relationship between the user and the property."

If it matters, in this context an Activity is a property of a user. What is the proper punctuation to use after the word "Activities"?

You have two separate complete sentences there.

Exactly! Two complete and independent sentences.

Semi-colons are used to join two complete sentences that are related in thought but can stand on their own.
