Quick Filter??

So my mom. aged 90, calls me up and says, "I've been getting this popup asking if I want to enable Quick Filter, and I've been saying no, but today, I accidentally clicked yes. Now I can't write an email. How do I fix it??" Win 7 and Thunderbird email client. Now you know everything I know about it. I've never heard of it, and a search of it comes up with various references in Excel and Mozilla, and Atlassian, and Tableau, whatever they are. Anybody got any idea what this and how to back out of it? At first I suspected some sort of "speed up your computer" scam, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm not sure when the popup comes up, whether it's from the desktop or when she starts Tbird, but I'd love to get some input before I have to drive over there and poke around like an idiot. Well, bigger than usual idiot anyway... Thanks zz03

I clearly missed that in google. That certainly explains it with reference to Tbird. I questioned her further and she said the notification came up in windows, not tbird, but I'm not sure I totally believe it. Further, I told her to just restart the computer, and now, low and behold, she can write emails just fine. So I'm guessing that whatever her issues were with email, they had nothing to do with quick filter and were coincidental, and no doubt, self inflicted. All is well, and next time I'm over there hands-on, I'll show her the quick filter bar and what it does. And look closer at my search results! Many thanks. Issue solved.
