Quick F@H question

I have multiple machines...and have been meaning to get back into distributed computing for quite some time now. My question is, if i use the same username on each client, will my score automatically be added together? I think i read this somewhere, but just wnated to make sure it wouldnt cause problems.

I'm adding my 1.7Dothan, 2.8C, 2.4Ghz Barton, 2Ghz Barton, p3 650, P3-450, P4 3Ghz HT, and potentially a few others in the coming week. how do i link to my stats in my sig?

You can use the same username on each different computer (remember to enter team number 198! 🙂), but what you shouldn't do is install the client to one computer, then copy that folder to all of the other computers. You'll end up with all computers having the same user ID (not to be confused with machine ID), which is not a good thing.

On your hyperthreading system, you can install two command-line clients to increase your output from 11% to 30% (figured pulled from some other thread recently - probably in a reply by Gleem). When you do this you just need to remember that they must be kept in separate folders, set up with separate machine IDs (it will be in the Advanced options), and run with the -local switch to keep them from interfering with each other.

FAH LogStats is a good way to keep track of all your systems, assuming they are on one local network.

To link to your stats, go to the Folding@Home site stats section for individual users, and search for your username. That will give you a link to your personal stats page, which can be linked to like this. BTW, it will take a little while for you to show up in the stats - one of your systems has to return a WU, and then after that it may be a few hours before the stats refresh. Sorry, we don't have quite the accurate-to-the-second stats that some projects have, but in general the stats are quite adequate at least for someone who's not addicted. 😉

Good luck, and happy folding! 😎

Thanks for the reply, and for the bump! 🙂

I didnt plan on copying the folder, so no worries there. Unfortunatly not all the machines are on a local network, the majority of them will be oh well ill just watch my rank go up occasionally 🙂

In your stats, it will show how many active machines you've had in the past week, and the past 50 days. This should help you keep track of your off-site machines, albeit at a less immediate pace than if they were connected to your LAN. Remember to count an HT machine as two systems, if you've set up two clients on it. 🙂
