quick, easy (?) question about 7900gt volt/mem mods...

got my Zalman VF700AlCu in, gonna hopefully give the mods a try this weekend w/ a friend's help...a few quick questions...do i perform the mods BEFORE putting on the new HS/fan? or are both mods done on the BACK of the cards, where I can easily get to them? I assume the volt mod should be done while the card is out of the case, but what about the mem mod? should it be in the PC with it running so voltage can be checked while pencilling in a little at a time? or do i pencil in a little, pop it in, check voltage, repeat as necessary? do you have any other tips to make this (my first hardcore physical mod) a good experience? (if i mess up my card I will be sad indeed 🙂 )
 
oy, I am an idiot....except i still need to know whether the pecil mod should be done while the card is installed / running or or if i should turn it off/remove it..
