400MHz NORTHWOODS will work. At least according to my IS7's manual they will. You might want to check the manual of the motherboard you're planning to buy (or currently own). I think 2.4GHz is the junction point for all P4 processors.
Does anybody know what all speeds the hyperthreading cpu's with 533 fsb come in? According to what I can find at Intel it is only the 3.06 but I have seen some claims of people selling hyperthreading 533 fsb cpu's at lower speeds then that? I understand they have the capability, but it is not enabled until you get to the 3.06 cpu's?
Are they going to make them in lower speeds in the future?
400fsb chips will work in a lot of the mobos you would be surprised, and often the 400fsb northwoods were just damn fine ocers they can run at 533fsb anyways....
The HT in the bios automatically detected my p4b chip as I didn't even have to disable it or subsequently enable it later when I got my p4c.....
Currently the only 533fsb chip with HT is in fact the 3.06ghz but I though rumor of new intel chips (prescotts and EE) showed a 2.8ghz (533fsb) model w/ HT and maybe more l2 cache...Do a search it wasn't that long ago and was probably titled on intel price cuts or when is the prescott or EE arriving...
