I have a directv/Tivo box that has a feature that allows you to "transfer to vcr." Can I hook up a dvd burner instead of a vcr? Is there a way to get TIVO'd shows to a DVD recorder? I do not want to replace my TiVo unit as it is fairly new. All the components are currently going through my AV receiver.

I don't know about recording to DVD but I am 99% sure my DirecTV/Tivo box has the transfer to VCR function. It is a phillips model. I would assume it wouldn't matter what was on the end of the recording be it DVD or VHS.
