quick Crossfire question

I currently have a 4870 with 1gb of ram and looking to add a second one but can only find a HIS brand one, which I have never heard of. But I can get 4890's with 1gb for a few $$ more so can I crossfire a 4870 and a 4890? is there any real negatives to doing it?

If I remember the crossfire chart correctly, you can crossfire any of the four 48xx types together. And their X2s
