Quick CPU question

is there any reason why this shouldn't be hooked up. My roomate setup up most of my pc but he moved out and i wasn't sure if he intentionally left it unhooked.
 
Looks like the second (4pin) 12v ATX connector. If your PSU has it. Hook it up. Better for stabilty etc.

looks like the 4 pin 12V connector. If I'm not mistaken it is used in the ATX 2.01 standard pushed by intel for the CPU. I think its cpu not video card that it helps. if ur psu has definately hook it up.
 
what processor are you using? The Pentium 4 and Athlon 64 need that to give them the extra power those Processor need. The Athlon XP does not need that however but the Athlon 64 and Pentium 4 do.
