Quick Corsair Question

Is this module dual sided? I wanted to know b/c I have the MSI k8n neo4 platinum and 2 of these modules, and need to know the arrangement for how to install them.

TIA.

Also, I have both of them installed, and in the BIOS Cell Menu it indicates that they are running at 2T. Is this correct? 2 512 mb RAM modules at 2T? I heard that that's bad :/

Isn't that what "DDR" means Double or dual data rate? Not really sure on this one man you will have to wait for a "good answer".

I have the TWINX1024-3200C2, which is basically two "CORSAIR XMS 512MB" in a dual channel setup. Im pretty sure it is dual sided, but even if it isn't, it still goes in the same way. You can only insert ram one way (unless you usie a hammer to insert it 🙂).

The "2T" thing. I set my RAM to 1T in the bois, which (i think) means it should run at 2.5-3-3-6. But when i run CPU-Z, it says it's running at 3-3-3-8!!! Does anyone else know what's going on?

As far as I know, ss long you only have two modules in dual channel, they should run at DDR400 regardless of whether or not they are dual sided. I think it's only if you have four double sided modules that you'll have a problem.

I might get shot down here but ain't double sided simply mean that it has ram chips on both sides of the pcb? If that is the case then take a module out and look at it from underneath and see if there are memory chips touching the heat spreader on both sides or just one. I did on my old 512mb corsair twinx 3200llpt when i replaced it a couple of weeks ago. Oddly the chips seemed to be spread out a lot on each side of the pcb, not right next to each other as i'm used to seeing.

according to your link, you will only be affected if you have a dual-sided stick in all 4 slots, or in slot 1 and slot 3... every other combination will yield the same clock speeds.

I have that stick of ram and it is indeed double sided.

You can set the command rate and timing manually in bios. Set it to 1T and whatever timings it should have (2-3-3-6 for the XMS). If it doesn't run stable, you have bad RAM and need to RMA it.
