Quick COD4 Question

I've taken the single player as far as I can on Veteran and I want to complete Deep and Hard so my question is since I've completed up to The Bog can I just complete the rest of the missions on Hardened and get the achievement?

How would it be cheating? I've finished up to The Bog on Veteran and I want to switch to Hardened so why should I have to replay the levels? The achievement says complete on Hardened OR Veteran.

If the achievement says hardened OR veteran than it's fine. If it just says veteran it wouldn't work.

Deep and Hard
Complete the game on Hardened or Veteran difficulty
