quick chaintech VNF4 Ultra mobo problem

I just built a new system with the following:

Chaintech VNF4 Ultra Zenith VE series mobo
WD 250GB Sata2 Hard Drive
IDE CD Burner
IDE DVD Burner
Amd64 3200+ processors
Antec Neo HE 500Watt power supply
ATI X800 PCIe 16x graphics card

I hooked up all the stuff as instructed and powered the system up.

All the fans spin, CPU, Graphics card, case fan hooked up to power supply 12V, but that's it.

No boops, beeps or bops. My monitor doesn't bother lighting up.

Any idea on where to look? I've put together a few comps in my past so i'm no uber noob.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You might try this link for some help. It sounds like your PC isn't able to even begin the POST sequnce, otherwise it would beep an "okay" beep or a series of beeps to tell you where to look (you have to look up the codes related to your BIOS). If it isn't even starting the post it could be as simple as having the CMOS discharg pins on wrong, or as serious as a bad BIOS or cpu. One thing is certain about the no beep you are getting;since the CPU must reach the BIOS and the BIOS must find memory to load instructions into, not getting a beep tells you that it is failing between the cpu and the BIOS itself. Now you may have dead memory. Not just bad but dead memory. If the cpu and BIOS are both working but it can't see the memory it won't beep. If the memory were bad it would beep an error code telling you "I see the moemry but I can't get to it."

You didn't say if you are using 1 or 2 sticks. Swap them to other slots, try just one or try another stick if you can.
Hope this helps.

Start with 1 stick of RAM, HD (make sure that SATA is hooked up correctly, and Vid card (make sure the external Power is connected)...forget everything else and see what happens...

I would try the memory 1st. Then try another PSU. I have problem mine too, it turn it was a PSU. It didnt have enough juice to crank it over.

good luck.

I am having the exact problem...

amd athlon 64 3200+
1gb (2 sticks 512) Kingston value RAM 184pin DDR400 (PC3200) non buffered non ecc
chaintech VNF4 Ultra Zenith VE mobo

everthing powers on but no beeps...power light just flashes
cdrom opens and closes, I can hear the hard disk spinning...the cpu fan spins...everything is brand new and just recently put together
I see things about flashing the bios but if the system won't even get through post sequence, how are you to do that? I was hoping someone could help me out...I'm RMA'ing my RAM tonight and sending it back tomorrow as a start and if that's not it then I'm sending the board back...

yeah, reset that several times
I just went to best buy and bought the same RAM and slapped that in there
same thing happened, even with all four sticks in the board...Ima replace the RAM and the board or maybe refund the board and get another because I don't see this particular RAM on the boards memory compatibility list

Is it even possible that the problem could be my new amd athlon 64 3200+?? I mean it's brand new and there are no bent pins...I think a smear of cooling silicone got on a pin but I wiped that off and shouldn't the board beep if theres a problem with the processor?

Make sure its not shorting out, make sure RAM is compatible in the first place (Had that problem w/ a chaintech board recently), swap PSUs.

:\ Im sending the board back and getting one that will accept kingston value ram because I like that ram 😀

OMFG, it happened to my rig AGAIN! the 2nd time in 3 weeks. Man, Im getting tire of this sh!t.
Im getting exact problem like post #1 n post #4. I have the same motherboard too(zenith VNF4) Meh, now I got me another psu,cpu and mobo. But something tells, my video card(6800gs) its a goner too. I read else where on the forum static may killed. So, I might invest a el cheapo anti static band.
