Quick car accident question

Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone can help me out, someone hit my car today, but it was just a minor accident. The problem is that I was parked illegally, and she wasn't. She simply backed into my parked car. My friend and I witnessed this happen, I was only 15 feet away.

Would there be any consequences since i was parked illegally, or do i have nothing to worry about, just call her insurance and thats that

ive often wondered about that. it looks like a legitimate "dropping off" kind of area. but i dont know the specific laws.

doesn't matter..she's at fault. you can be parked in the middle of the lane and she can't touch your car without paying for damages. the most she can do is call a tow truck. so don't let the fact that you're parked illegally stop you from filing a claim with her insurance...

^^ Yup, what they said. It's weird though, that your thumbnails are blurry, but the real pictures are very clear. What kind of camera/image editing program are you using?

o i just used macromedia dreamweaver's photo album command,
i made the thumbnails at a lower quality thast why

all she really said was that "i always forget to look back", and at the end of getting her info she said to me "for future reference your not supposed to park there"

im just afraid that me parking illegally may affect the insurance claim in any way

She's at fault, but like she said, you shouldn't park there. I'd love to call a tell the apartment complex to call a tow truck company to tow you away and have you pay 100 bucks to get it back, as well as have to bother someone for a ride there

At second look, the spot doesn't look illegal. You're not parked in front of a driveway nor do I see any blue or red paint on the sidewalk. You're ok man

Yea, I dont see any way to make that place illegal. I used to live in the same place in Irvine, and I dont remember anything that made the place you parked in illegal.

Yea it is...I lived there with my dad from age ~6~11.

Just because it's not marked doesn't mean it's not illegal. Nonetheless, she is at fault for backing into your car. Furthermore, your car is stationary and you're not even IN your car.

On a sidenote, I hate people who park like that. But I hate people who back out without looking even more.

Had this happen before, and no, there is no loss at fault. A parked car is a parked car. You are not liable for anything.

Its somewhere in Stanford Court, i'd never been in the actually apartment complex before.. even tho i've been at uci for almost 4 years now
