Since I am having trouble with my Lite On Burner, I am gonna be using my old external Iomega one.... It plugs in through a USB slot which is easy. It was working on my comp before with Nero, but now when I go to CHOOSE A RECORDING DEVICE it reads the burner as an IMAGE RECORDER and I dunno why. Also, the burner is not appearing in My Computer as it used to. Ihave used it with Nero and on this computer before, so I dunno what happened. Here is stuff that could have lead up to this problem...
My Lite On Burner wasn't working, it would stop all burn processes at a max of 9%, so basically it has not even got to the burn process. I installed a burned copy of Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum, and it wasn't working with XP right so I manually uninstalled. When I restarted, my computer was asking me to start in Safe Mode and if I cliked that it would not start Windows XP. So I unplugged the Lite On Burner, and my computer started and works just fine. Then I used the correct uninstaller to remove the Roxio stuff, and that's gone.
I plugged the Iomega Burner back in, and nothing. It does not appear in My Computer and will not burn. The Iomega CD it came with does not work with XP, but I never installed that stuff on this computer before, and I was burning things just fine before all this. Any ideas anyone?! Thanks so much.
