IDE card? Why not SATA?

If you're going to OC the Q6600 I would spend an extra $30+ to get a better heatsink, preferably one that will direct air to your rear exhaust case fans.

I'd get a arctic freezer 7 pro, qauds run hot, especially on the stock cooler, and if so much is CPU intensive I bet more ram will help too, 2x2gb is cheap anyways, like 70$ AR ?

it may come to that, but if it can get there without a better heatsink, so much the better

there seem to be a lot of people who reach 3.0 with stock cooling so it doesn't seem like an unreasonable goal

Toss another 2GB of RAM in there like Marc says, it's so cheap there's no reason not to.
