Through a set of circumstances to complicated and painful to recount in this forum, my work system has no hard drives again, for the second time in two weeks.

I have permission to go out and get new drives today.

I ussually do my homework on this stuff, and get exactly what I want through some online vendor. I don't have time to do the research, and I'm limited to what I can find at Best Buy or CompUSA (Hopefully Best Buy, CompUSA is at the other end of town). I need to be back up ASAP.

Suggestions? Does Best Buy carry any of those 8MB buffer drives?

They carry the Maxtor 120 gig with the 8 meg buffers, that were hot a week ago at $99. The sale only lasted a day, and I think they pulled a lot of the drives off the shelves, because the pricing might have been a mistake(?). Anyways, if they've got them back on the shelves now, I think they go for $179, and if work is paying the bill, why not.

Best Buy has a 60gig WD drive on sale. It's a 7200 RPM but with a 2MB buffer.

It is $99.99 - $10 BB mail-in-rebate - $30 WD mail-in-rebate = $59.99 +tax
