Quick Asus A7V133 Setup Question...

Ok, when I'm installing Win2k, I need to specify drivers for the promise raid controller. However, the only drivers I got were the ones on the CD. When I setup my KT7A-RAID, they included a HPT Raid disk that I used, and I was wondering if I needed to load drivers for the Win2k setup, or if they were on the included CD. I checked out the CD, and they do have promise drivers on them, but I don't think they are the same as the ones needed for windows setup. Anyone who knows this and can help me out will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

you need the newest drivers from the asus web site, and if you where planing on using raid on that board see my article at http://www.tweakhardware.com its about lite raid to full raid on the a7v133, the reason you cant use the promise.com drivers is the real ultra100 and fastrak 100 have pdc20267 chip id 4d30,and the a7v/a7v133 have pdc20265 chip id 0d30,you can use promise new drivers if you open setup text and inf file with notepad and change all the 4d30 to 03d0 then they will work.

tpetre,

Just to double check, you say that the Promise drivers from their website will work? Also, in your post you say the Promise Fastrack chip ID is 4d30 which corresponds to the 4d30 in the .inf and setup.oem files. For the integrated Asus Promise controller you said the ID is 0d30 and to change the device ID in the inf and setup files to 03d0. Did you make a typo?

Thanks

Thanks! I just put the RAID drivers on a floppy disk from the CD that came w/ the board, and it worked out fine. I'm upgrading to the new ones as we speak... thanks for the links!
