Quick answer required, what would cause ipconfig to run and then shutdown?

basically i go to start-run and type ipconfig, it runs, displays for half second and then closes. what is the cause of this.

running cmd is fine, but what causes ipconfig to fuxors up?

because by typing it into "run" it terminated the window as soon as the command is done running. there is a switch available with the cmd command i believe to have it stay up.

That is what it is supposed to do. Print to screen and quit. Notice that when you run from cmd it displays and then sends you back to C:\

try it with any command which returns a dos prompt value, you'll get the same thing. The reason being that you aren't in DOS when you type "ipconfig", but it uses a DOS shell, so once it's done, it shutdown the DOS window.

Just type "cmd" first and you won't have a problem
