Quick (and maybe dumb) question: Will my Abit BH6 boot from the CD-ROM?

Does my Abit BH6 support booting from the CD-ROM? (IIRC, it's board rev. 1, bios rev. "SS")

I'm just thinking of installing Red Hat Linux on my old spare 5 gig HD, using the "cold cable swap" method of dual booting, but I'm too lazy at the moment to physically install the drive and try. It?s easier to type, don?t-cha-know?

I'm just kind of in the pre-ponderance phase, so I wonder if anyone had a quick answer.

Can I assume that computers newer than a certain class will boot from the CD-ROM, eg. Pentium, Pentium II, etc?

The CD-ROM's IDE channel must be set to Auto Detect or somesuch in CMOS setup and of course set CD-ROM detect before C:
One thing what annoys me is that of all the device boot orders available there is no option for A:/CD-ROM/C: which seems like a no-brainer. So normally it is left on A:/C:/SCSI but to boot from CD it must temporarily be changed to CD-ROM/C:/SCSI (if I remember correctly). Dumb.

My old BH6 would not boot from Cd-Rom (I had the first revison with the latest Bios SS) and I never got that sucker to boot form a cdrom, I tried three different cdroms from my part box, you millage may very but like i said I never got it to work.....
