Quick AMD Question

hi guys I have a real quick question for you. I have an Asus A7V motherboard, and I currently have a duron 800@1000mhz. My question is what is the fasterst T-Bird I can put into this motherboard. I am just looking for a little extra gaming power before I blow over a grand for a totally new system in a year or so.

Last I checked, the A7V was recommended for up to a 1200MHz (200MHz FSB) Thunderbird: AMD's recommended motherboard list I imagine people have gotten even faster CPUs to work, of course.

Unless you plan on doing some memory overclocking I think 1.2GHz is the fastest you will get. This is because the multiplier on the board only goes up to 12.5 I believe. You could also OC it to 1.25GHz...

I see that there are 1.4 gig T-birds that are 200mhz bus. Does anyone know if one of them would work? I know I would not be able to overclock it much if at all, but I would rather pay the extra $15 and get the 1.4 gig if I can. I always thought the highest multiplier on the kt-133 was 12.5, but there must be a way to get one of the 1.4 gig T-birds to work?

1.4 Ghz. Just update to latest bios from Asus to reflect the correct CPU detection of 1.4 Ghz.

1.4ghz should work fine in that MB.
