I'm got the X2 3600+ many months ago and I migrated over finally.

It's currently OC'd to 2.62ghz.

I think I want a faster chip that will OC well.

What CPU should I be looking at if I want to stay under $80 bucks
 
I would get an Opteron 165 if anything. It has more cache and overclocks well. The cache is worth around 200mhz.

That said, your chip is FINE. Just wait it out until you need something that will be a fair bit faster. You won't notice 400mhz more.
