OK, right now I have XP home SP2 installed on my PC. I wanted to upgrade my OS to XP Pro so I can get a copy of XP 64... Anyways I have an older XP Pro upgrade CD (don't worry hasn't been used). I believe it may be SP1.

Is it possible to upgrade from a newer version of windows to this? If so, how would I have to go about doinf this? I assume I would need to reformat and everything...

Intuition is telling me it isn't possible, but I thought I would ask. Thanks for any help!

Link is messed up, but I fixed it. I guess I mu=st have a full retail version correct? Not just the upgrade...

That kinda sucks. Whatever, I guess I will just wait until Longhorn.

Thanks for the reply!

Schandenfroh, your link goes to paypal.

What you need to do is if you have the XP pro CD and SP2 downloaded, you can make slipstream SP2 into the CD in an image file on your HDD and then burn a new CD that will install XP Pro with SP2. I made one a while ago and it works flawlessly.

And before you decide to jump to 64-bit, make sure there are drivers for everything you want to use.

I wasn't plannign on upgrading for a little while (at least until there are more drivers).

As for slipstreaming sp2... How would I go about doing this? Can you point me to a good guide or something? I am assuming this is legal?
