Got a few Questios about Intel latest celeron CPU (those with number scheme)

1. I know the old one runs like crap (even duron beat it), how is the new one ?

2. Does the new celeron run cooler than the old generation one ?

3. How does a simliar celeron clock rate compared to AMD 2500+ ?

4. Does it stock fan runs quiet ?

Just think of them as the old Willamette P4's with a slightly faster bus speed.

As an owner of a willamette P4, I'll translate: It sucks so bad you'll cry at night. Get an Athlon XP or a Sempron, they're cheaper and perform much better.

New Celeron D's are better, but still suck compared to XP or Sempron. Here's what I would do:
Save Most Money: Sempron
Better Perf for Similar Cost As Sempron: XP
Best Perf for $: Athlon 64 2800+ (Or K8 Sempron for a few $ less)

Read AT's review on the Sempron's compared to other CPUs. They lay it all out, Celeron D's & everything.

Agreed. Buy sempron if you're worried about price. Intel will probably get a better celeron out of the dothan core whenever thats released for desktop.
