Questions to the ladies about the monthly period

Ok...my gf hasn't been feeling well since last week, and two days ago she had her period. I figure she's feeling tired and stuff from working and being stressed out with her personal problems.

What bothers me is the last time she had her period was the 9th or 10th of this month. It's not even June yet and she just got it. I'm clueless when it comes to women's hygeine, and she's trying to tell me it's not normal and there's a possibility she could be pregnant.

I called every female I knew and they told me not to worry. Maybe there's something wrong with her that triggered the onset of the period. She can't rememebr the last time she had her period, but we managed to figure out it had to be the second week of May.

She also told me when her mom was pregnant with her brother, she had her period early, and then it stopped all of a sudden. Today's the third day and obviously she's in pain because of the symptons that comes with your period.

Am I worrying over nothing or what? my friend told me "atleast the period came, so there's nothing to worry about."

Not true. Friend of mine just found out she was pregnant and had still been having hers. She was on the pill, conceived, but the pill continued to start her period for her. She didn't find out she was pregnant till she was 4 months along.

If SHE is worried, the best thing she should do is see her OBGYN or take a pregnancy test.

BTW, how old is she? A woman's period can be quite irregular at the beginning, and they get more regular as she ages.

Not true at all. Also I had one girlfriend have her period and then a little more than a week later have another one. It is not a perfect cycle.

Just because you don't want to think about it, doesn't mean it can't be true. If you're worried enough to post about it, she should go to her doctor.

I'll still never get why people think medical advice on here is worth anything. If you're worried enough to post, go see your doctor.

It is not a perfect cycle.
For some women it is.

i posted something like this (well, opposite) a few weeks ago... when my wife wasn't getting hers for 2.5 month.
i'm assuming that your gf is young... and not in her mid 30's.
females' cycle can be thrown off by many different factors.

mysteriously... they sync with girls around her.
so if she's in a new environment... or has been spending lots of time with some new female...
it might trigger that.

diet also has a lot to do with it.

as well as stress.

physical illness will also play a big part in this.

although i feel i've done my homework on this field... a few weeks ago... due to my wife's symptoms...
there's no harm in your gf going to see a doctor.

chances are, she's not pregnant.
but if she is... it'll only help you guys to better prepare for your future... the earlier you find out.

I know that at the very least spotting is possible - spotting being spots of blood. Yuck. Anyway I'm not sure if periods can happen for a while. I think possibly they can although it sounds rather silly.

I think she can get a pregnancy test now. You don't need long after conceiving for the test to work. I won't even joke about it so good luck.

I keep trying to tell her that her period is never in a perfect cycle. She tells me how would I know since I dont get them. She usually gets it during the 10th of every month, but that keeps changing because I remember her getting it on the first a couple of months ago. Besides, it's only a week away from her "normal" time frame so I guess everythign is fine.

Can we get MrsSkoorb to comment? I mean, a female would probably be the best person to answer this.

My girlfriend's period is always right on time. It is nice to be able to plan things(vacation, etc) in advance accordingly.:)

This I didn't believe when she told me she gets her after her sister gets her. I am going to ask if her sister got it yet or not. She normally gets it after her younger sister gets her.

diet also has a lot to do with it. as well as stress.

She hardly eats at work. She's working too damn hard!

I was talking to my g/f about this (me and my g/f are very open to each other) and she told me that the cycle can be thrown off sometimes. My g/f's time is around the 19th (my birthday :|), but sometimes she will get it during the end of teh month or the beginning. The truth, You never know for certian when it's gonna happen, you can only anticapate it.

sounds like your gf falls into all those symptoms.

when my wife was not getting her period for 2.5 months...
she was really concerned... and stressed out.... which was the cause of delay in her case.

finally... i convinced her to take the pregnancy test.
and wouldn't you know it... the day after we find out that she's not pregnant...
she gets hers.

i don't think that was a co-incidence.

as weird as it may sound, females are very intuned with their emotions and surroundings.

go get a pregnancy test... or go take her to see a doctor.
until you do either one of those...
she'll live in terror.... and that'll only sustain your worries of probable nothing.

yea, i figure so. I rememebr the first time we had a chance to have sex was on the 15th of July of last year and thats when she had her period. well, we didn't do it because of her period, and i went through the same thing as now a couple of months later thinking she may be pregnant. We waited and waited and then her period came somewhere between 1-10 of one of the month. So yea, her monthly cyccle changed from time to time. But, like everyone says, go get the damn test.

Well, I've only heard of the "monthly friend" stopping due to stress but not the other way.

In fact, mine skipped before, when I was under a lot of stress back in college. I was extremely under-weight too...
that contributed to the condition.
