I liked the look of the LS, but as soon as I sat in one I went for a Mark VIII. I'm not that tall (6'0', 32" inseam) but I felt cramped in the LS. Lincolns should be roomy.

not a fan of the LS. everyone raves about the styling but it doesn't appeal to me.

anyways, OP, you've floated around a few cars recently. what are you looking for in terms of type of car, performance, age range, and cost?

you went from bmw to miata to LS. three different beasts with the bimmer and lincon being the closest.

Drive 60 miles a day (95% highway), 20 days/month safely, comfortably and not looking like my grandma.

The cops got a more powerful engine??

Elwood: It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?

Jake: Fix the cigarette lighter.

Sort of... the CVPI got a dual exhaust, slightly more aggressive shift points, and a slightly more aggressive tune. Something around 20hp/25lb-ft over the stock CV. Also bigger brakes and was raised about 1in. It was my first car.

Sorry for making another thread...

So I've started having a change of heart after speaking to a couple of Miata owners...

Biggest suggestions (point outs) I've come across considering I'm a fairly new driver with little "Manual transmission experience" have been the following:

A) "It's RWD, unless you have a lot of practice, there is a good change you might spin out going 70MPH on the highway"

B) "It's a hydraulic manual transmission, completely different monster"

C) "Safety rating is non-existent, specially on a soft top"

D) Buy a Civic

WTF? What Miata owners have YOU been talking to?? Dude. You live in Tampa, so do I. Check your PM's. Come drive my Miata.

Here we go...

A) LOL WHAT?! My miata was my first manual transmission car. Besides, when you're going 70 on the highway, it's no different than driving an automatic. Once you're in 5th gear, it's equally boring and your hands/feet do the same thing.

B) LOL WHAT?! No.

C) Wear your seatbelt. Drive defensively. Get a rollbar. My friend Gavin got a rollbar for $50.

D) Actually, Civics are good quality cars, but you might die from boredom. Good luck finding one at a good price that wasn't completely molested by its previous owner.

Come drive my Miata - you'll want one.
