Ok I have been a verizon customer forever but I want to switch to sprint because of the SERO plan...its just toooo cheap. That being said I have a few questions.

I know thier CS is bad but what are the other downsides..its seems like its all good things besides the CS. Are my points listed below correct?

1. Fast EVDO when you are in the sprint network with broadband speeds.

2. Even if you leave the sprint network you can use verizons for free...so its like having sprint and verizons networks at once

3. Unlimited text and data

4. 30 bucks a month.

Really whats the downside here?

My question concerning the touch and the mogul is how important wifi is. When roaming outside of sprints fast EVDO network, making you hop onto verizons or whoevers is it a lot slower? If there is no broadband network, just phone service, can you still surf the web and get email just at a slower pace?

I think the touch looks sweet cause it is so small and I dont want a huge thing in my pocket. The videos with touch pad software looks like it can make it pretty easy to enter text.

Anyway help is appretiated!

You don't get free roaming on Verizon's network. I can personally confirm that from my experiences here (on the DC metro) that you pay roaming for going onto Verizon's network.

You can mostly avoid their terrible customer service by doing email support. My wife and I are long-time Sprint customers, and, for the most part, like them.

WiFi is a handy fallback, but I don't use it too often. EVDO is generally fine.

But is the EVDO only where it is orange on sprints coverage map? Where I live right now looks to be under it but I travel places that are not..

I will be getting a Mogul today, 245 bucks with no contract renewal, I was lucky enough to find a good deal on a brand new on through craigslist. I can't wait. However mine will be through Qwest, I'm not getting a data plan either because I think that the Data plans on Qwest are a lot more expensive than on Sprint, although Qwest's network is basically just Sprint's network. I'll have to ask the Reps a little more before I activate the phone.

Wifi will be a nice feature in a phone, and this will be my first PDA phone. EVDO would be sweet on it.

The mogul really does have an impressive amount of features...but it seemed really plastic and cheap to me when I held it in a store. With the Touchpal on the Sprint Touch I can see myself typing just as fast as that slide out keyboard

Haven't seen the touch in real life yet. The Mogul did seem like it had too much plastic on it.. But already having my Mogul for a day and I'm loving it, I just have to figure out a lot of the features, it will definitely take me a month to get completely familiar with all of the features on the device.

Yes, you get free roaming. I set my phone to forced roaming in my building at work and use probably 20-30 hours of data/month. No charges. Besides...Sprint SAYS free roaming.

As far as CS support...yeah eCare is good, otherwise call employee accounts or retentions. I've NEVER had a problem. This is ONLY for SERO though.

Are you a current Sprint customer now? For the last few motnhs Sprint has been moving customers off the old billing system (P2K) and onto the new one (Ensemble). If youre in that transition, no changes can be made for a week or so. Sprint should have sent you or emailed you about your conversion date.

OIC. Well, that Ensemble error has to do with their billing system. Probably couldnt create your account.

Give it a few hours or a day worst case scenario I would think. Or you can call to sign up for SERO as well. Phone number is on the main SERO page.
