I'm planning a new build with this MB, an E8500, 4g of 1066 RAM and a RAID1 HD configuration. Two questions right now....the MB has 6 SATA ports on the southbridge and 2 SATA ports on an onboard Gigabyte SATA2 controller. Which ports are the best/right choice for the Raided harddrives, or does it not make any difference? Also, the memory spec in the manual said the MB has "4 x 1.8v DDR2 sockets....". The memory I've ordered is OCZ memory that runs at 2.1v. The MB manual lists voltage settings but it's unclear if the memory voltage can be raised to 2.1 or not. So, does the BIOS allow this or not? Thanks.

Usually you want to use sata port 0 and 1 for raid but dont quote me on that as I cannot be totally sure.
To set the memory manual controlls while in bios press Ctrl F1.
By the way I forgot to ask but what type of memory do you have as you may not even need to set the volts that high.
I am running Crucial Ballistix 1066 rated at 2.2v and I can run them at 1.8v no problem..

Memory is OCZ Platinum, model# is OCZ2P10664GK. The sata ports are labeled SATA2_0 and SATA2_1....SATA2_5 on the Southbridge, and GSATA2_0, GSATA2_1 on the Gigabyte SATA2 chip. The manual gives directions for setting up a RAID array both places.

You can set the memory at 2.1V on this board. The selection turns red when you do it, indicating they don't think it's such a good idea, but it's possible.

I think you can run them at the 1066 even at 2.0v I wouldnt run them at the full 2.1v unless you have to.
Specially if your only running 2 sticks if your running all 4 I dont think your going to have a choice though.
But you never know like I said above I am running 4 sticks of crucial 1066 and have them set to 1.8v
Best way is to give it a try and post back if you have any problems.
Also may need to loosen up your timings a tad maybe 5,5,5,15??
Personly I would set your raid on these SATA2_0 and SATA2_1.
