I can't run Norton AntiVirus on my computer PIII 700 --> 966MHZ on an abit SA6R with a WD 40gb ATA/100 and a WD 13.5gb ATA/66. Every time the prgram tries to run a system test the computer freezes and it gives me an error HPTXXX.vxl or something like that. Also I can't benchmark any of the hard drives on Sandra. Does anyone know why this is happening? Lastly what kind of configurations are people running (ie. which cards on which slots)?
 
Got mine this weekend and have had no problems, great board. Using Norton System Works Pro 2001 with AntiVirus without problem. Using a Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 45 30GB and Quantum 15GB hard drive without hiccup. This board is great!
 
If you haven't already, try upping the CPU voltage,try CAS2/3 settings,Toggle the bios and video cacheable settings or you may have to lower your FSB a little,but who wants to do that!
 
What kind of settings do you guys have. Which card/ram are in what slots and what are your bios settings?
 
Have you checked your system for stability?? Run Prime 95. If you cannot make it through at least one pass on the self test, you need to fix something. I've used Sandra and can benchmark fine(No crashes).
