Hello

If someone hacks my password for my wifi can they get into my network/router?

is there a preferred router with wifi access point for security purposes/more secure?

yes, once someone gets your wifi password they can log onto your network and access the router unless it is also password protected.

You want to choose a long password with capitals, numbers and symbols in it. Also, its wise to change the password to the router itself and make sure you remember it or keep it somewhere safe. That way if someone were to access your network they would not be able to access your router.

In addition to this perfect response, pretty much all of the wireless routers and access points are the same when using WPA2. The only other type of wireless security would be using accountability measures with RADIUS and WPA2-Enterprise. If you can make the simple WPA2 passphrase into a sentence (>20 characters) with one number at the end, it makes the passphrase quadrillions of times more difficult to crack. You can test how it would fare here (howsecureismypassword.net). Also set a reminder to rotate out the passphrase because it's not you to worry about, it's anyone that might give out passphrases or overhear it being given.
