I'm thinking about getting one, but several questions are in the way:

1) Does a lot of dust get in through the holes?

2) If one were to put some kind of light kit inside (think UV), would the light escape through the front holes?

3) Did you ever have to buy longer SATA and/or power cables for installation?

Please comment if you know the answers... thx!!

I don't really notice any more, or any less dust. But I clean my case all the time.

Can't reall answer that.

I have 20" SATA cables. They are perfect. The rounded IDE cables for my optical drives have to be shorter My P4PC800-E has the primary & secondary IDE connectors really close to the back of the optical drives.

Hope that helps

i'm really sure that if you use a UV light kit inside the case, light would escape throught the holes. looking at the case opened, it's a clear way to the holes. unless you plan on modding it so that it has a window, why would you want a UV kit?

Well, I'm probably going to buy a Barton 2600+ mobile and oc it using the DFI LanParty NFII Ultra board. I heard this board is awesome for oc'ing and since it is uv-reactive, why not put in a uv kit?

Although, I'm not sure it'll look good in a silver case. (I know they look nice in black cases).

What's making me think twice about putting in a window is the fact that you can't clean up the cables in the case.

Who says you can't clean up the cables???

Oh ok. well, the lanparty is just a more appealing board then the dfi infinity, which overclocks just as well as the lanparty. their basically the same thing except for looks. it'll save you a few bucks and you'll still get the same outcome. :)

Well, looking at several review pictures of the case with everything installed, the cables seem to just run throughout the case, in comparison to a regular case where you can usually hide the cables.

Am I wrong?

Yeah, I thought about the Infinity board, but in terms of features, are they the same board?

I'm fortunate enough to have gotten one of these fantastic cases (silver) and here are a couple of my thoughts:

-Dust doesn't seem to be an issue thus far, but I've only had the case for a couple of weeks so I can't really say.

-Light will probably be visible from the front, but it really depends on how far from the bezel your light source is; I modded the front led and some of the light seeps through. It was kinda apparent even before I put the brighter LED in too, particularly in the dark.

-In case you're interested in getting the zalman zm80 for your video card, keep in mind that it won't work since zalman doesn't recommend using it in upside-down configurations.

-You can get a clear side panel if you're interested: http://froogle.google.com/froo...+Froogle&scoring=p

-Oh yeah, if you happen to want to replace the front LED, it's a 3mm standard led. I happened to find a nice white one a fry's that fit perfectly. The procedure is pretty painless overall. All you have to do is undo a few screws for the power button/led assembly, slide (SLIDE, NOT PULL) out the led holder from the case and pop out the existing light. The 3mm LEDs should be a regular fit.

HTH.

rliao,
THX! That was some great information. I guess I shouldn't worry about dust too much since I regularly clean my case anyways.

Its good to know I can't use the ZM80 for my video card since that was what I was going to get. Hmmm, do you know if I can still use the 7000 HSF for my cpu?? I have a feeling that should be ok.

Replacing the front LED to white sounds good. Which LED did you replace, the power and/or hdd?

thx again for the info.

I have two SATA hard drives and I put them both in the first compartment. I use the secound compartment to bundle up unused molex connerectors. I can run my SATA cables up the back.

The only bad spot is the proximity of the IDE connectors on my P4C800, and the rear of ,y optical drives.

Other than that, I am verry happy with the case.

Just glad I could help :p I'd hate to have my experience go to waste so i figured i'd better post it up.

I've heard from most people that they're using the VGA Silencer with decent results.

Personally, I happen to be using the 7000AlCu for my machine on an Asus A7N8X, and it fit JUST RIGHT. It was so close, when everything settled, there was only about 2-3mm left between the case and the HSF. In fact, I was kinda trippin out thinking that it wouldn't work in the beginning.

I don't know how far from the edge of the board the socket will be for you so I suppose you'll have to try it out.

As far as the LED goes, I took out the power LED. I'm using a SATA adapter for my disks and the HDD light doesn't work on the motherboard. If I get a chance, I'll put up a picture.

Thanks, I'll probably just go with the VGA Silencer Rev. 3. Would love to see pics of your setup... :)
