Questions on how to use the full bandwidth on a single connection

Hi,

I have a 2 Mb internet line and when i use it for downloading file by applications such as IDM or other download accelerators which use more than one connection i have the speed of 250 kilobytes per second but when i download the same file through IE or other browsers which use single connection i have speed of 40 to 60 Kilobytes per second, up to this point there isn't an issue as i can use download apps but when i want to use my slingbox in order to watch a video stream which use a single connection my problem begins that i don't have a good and stable speed and i can't use my bandwidth full potential, so i was wondering is there an application or any other free or paid services which could do the IDM scheme in making numerous connections for single connections such as Slingbox?

Regards

Are you talking about using Slingbox to stream video to one of your devices, outside of your home? If so, then you are talking about uploading, not downloading, and you'll very likely find that your upload speeds are far slower than download speeds. At 2Mb/s, your upload speeds would likely be 128kbps. At those speeds, it would be very difficult to stream a video of any type. Slingbox's own specs call for 250kbps of upload speed for mobile devices, 600kbps for SD, and 2Mb for HD speeds. What's your connection?

No, i'm taking the opposite situation. there is a slingbox connected somewhere and i want to watch it and i have downloading speed problem. I have a ADSL line with up to 4 MB downloading speed with more than 200 kilobytes per sec solid downloading speed. and the rest in first post.

in summery i can say that i'm looking for a way to use my full bandwidth potential ( as IDM does in downloading files ) in watching slingbox stream that i'm receiving.

setup QoS on your router and give that traffic the highest priority

Thanks for response, could you elaborate more on what should i do exactly. how can i setup QoS? i have a Quality of Service option in my router menu but i don't know how to configure and what parameters should i input. My ADSL router is D-link DSL-2640U.

What's the UPLOAD bandwidth at where the slingbox is located?
If it's also in a residential location, the upload speed is typically far slower than download, and your issue may be caused by that instead.

I'm pretty sure that there is not an issue with slingbox upload speed as i have the same problem with other slingboxes as well. also the upload speed is based on a fiber optic 5 Mb line.

I have used a service called Globax in the past months which use a scheme in getting full bandwidth potential on any single connection as IDM does in downloading files but recently as this service was working on UDP port which my isp and other ISPs based on authorities decision has put limitations therefore it doesn't work anymore and i'm looking for such service.
