Questions on a NEC/MITSUBISHI MultiSync FE991SB-BK

I'm thinking about buying one of these today for about $270.00 shipped. I can't seem to find any reviews on it so if you have one or have used one,let me know what you think.

I'm looking for a good 19 inch flat screen in Black & so far this is the best deal I can find but the free shipping ends today.

It looks like a newly-released monitor. The specs on paper look pretty good. $270 isn't so bad for what you're getting. If you don't get any other responses by the time your deadline to order this monitor comes up, I'd personally go for it - the Diamondtron tube should like nice!

This monitor uses the new Super Bright tube. In SB mode the image is more than twice as bright as non-SB monitors. SB mode is meant for graphics only, and will make the text look bad. You can change the mode by pressing one button on the monitor, so it's easy to switch into SB mode for games and movies.

NotoriousJTC i love my FE950+blk monitor. I brought it locally at best buy for only $270. Seems like online at bestbuy its $430 for some reason. Who knows why. Strange through. When i was buying a monitor in bestbuy i looked at the Sony's too and i thought the FE950+blk looked just as good as the Sony but cheaper. To tell you the truth the FE950+blk looked better than the Sony monitor. Games look so good on it. Movies really good. Text to me is fine. These MITSUBISHI montior tubes are very nice. One of the best top of the line monitor tubes thats for sure.

I've had a Mistubishi for almost 2 years. It is a Diamond Plus 91 19" flat-screen aperature grill and I love it. If this monitor is anything like mine, it will be a great value at $270!

I hate to be so predictable but this thing is a real beauty.So far so good the text looks great,color is rich.The build quality is looks great.Check out the vent/mesh top.
I don't usually run higher than 1024x768 @100mhz.

Using an ATI Radeon8500
I'm comparing it to these monitors I've owned:
19" Viewsonic A90
17" Mitsubishi Diamondtron
17" Gateway Vivitron
17" KDS Avitron

I had the Veiwsonic A90 Monitor for 2 yrs & always liked the color & crisp text just could'nt stand the curved screen.
I have been using a 17" Mitsubishi Diamondtron since I sold the Veiwsonic so it's nice to be back to a 19" monitor.

Toro 45 yep looks a lot like my NEC 19 inch montior except for the top. Your top has more air holds in it than mine. But mine has enough. Also whats with that picture on the wall with all those kids i believe it is? Is that a picture of a birthday or something? Just asking. Also what is with that HD hanged on the wall? Is that a IBM IDE HD or a SCSI HD on the wall?

Have your tried the super bright mode in games or movies? I'm interested to know how much better it makes things look. That's a gorgeous monitor; my next monitor might be a black one as well...

The Super Bright Mode is a pretty slick feature it has 2 brightness settings mode1 & mode2 then off.they do a great job of brightning without washing out the colors.I don't plan on using it on text but it looked fine in either mode,definately a bonus when playing a dark map on Tribes or a dark movie.
