Questions on 4870 + Zalman VF1000

Sup Video forum,
Just got a VF1000 for my HD4870 1GB Dark Knight which broke one of its screws and thus has been loose and hot for awhile now. I had some questions:

Does thermal compound act as an adhesive as well? Should I use the thermal pads on the little ramsinks or this nice new tube of Tuniq TX-2? I've heard a lot of complaints from people saying the ramsinks fall off, advice to avoid this?

I have a friend who has your Zalman on a 48xx and it works flawless. Just take a easy on installation not to chip the board... and NO to your second question.. gl

Just installed it. Idle temps dropped by 20C. I can't wait to see what it does to my load temps which were absolutely unacceptable before. 🙂
