i know white socks with black dress shoes is a big faux pas. but what if you're wearing jeans and dark brown shoes. are white socks a no-no in that situation too? what about black dress socks with brown shoes?

As far as I know, black + brown = no-no.

If I wear jeans and brown shoes, I'll wear brown or blue socks.
