I finally got around to playing through Planescape: Torment for the first time and all I can say is WOW :Q What an absolutely incredible game! I had heard great things about the plot but nothing prepared me for how impressive it truly was. I was hooked the entire way through and the ending is PERFECT...absolutely stunning...it haunted me for some time afterwards.
It blows my mind that no other CRPGs have been made about the Nameless One, or even in the Planescape setting at all--no sequels, no prequels, no expansions, no new unrelated games, *nothing*.
PST sold well, didn't it? I can understand the developers nixing a sequel because they want to keep the beautiful ending but c'mon, if ever there was a game tailor-made for a prequel this is it.
3 questions:
1) Has TSR discontinued the Planescape series? I don't follow pen-and-paper RPGs but I heard this was the case.
2) Has Black Isle Studios officially ruled out any Planescape-related products in the future? Again, I remember hearing this somewhere.
3) Has anyone read the PST book (there is only one, right?)? I'm wondering if it would be a worthwhile pickup.
