Everybody says it's as fast and you can disable pop ups.

For some reason Firebird runs uber slow on my desktop pc, but it runs fine on my laptop.

Start up is a bit slower, but that's offset by the fact that you only have to open one browser. All your other windows can be put in tabs, rather than more instances of IE.

Loading pages is noticably faster.

1. Firebird takes a bit longer than IE to load up. It's faster in use though because you don't have to spawn new windows for each page you visit, you can just use the tabs.
2. No, the pop-up blocker is great!

with your rig, you wont notice the slow down people say Firebird / Mozilla has.

1. Mozilla / Firebird load just as fast on my AMD 2.2 GHZ Barton
1a Loads noticably slower on my P3 866

pop up blocker rules.

not to mention the fact that the un-asked for "do you want to install....." seldom appears.

(I don't think i've seen it yet)
