Currently I use two SNES pads on LPT1. It was not that difficult. I did not use a multi-meter or anything to see what wires were getting what, I just followed the diagram in Direct Pad. A website like myurl is very straitforward and easy to understand. For my SNES pads I used a crimp style DB 25 connector and soldiered the wires directly to it. I did not want to bother w/ any diodes. Both pads work great.
I'm very interested in doing a PSX pad [dual shock]. However, when I look at this site it makes the project of a PSX pad look a whole lot more complicated. Has anyone else w/out electronic experience (shy of wiring SNES pads) done this? It recommends using a multi-meter to check what pins are supplying what. I assume I can get that at Radio Shack, are they very expensive? Can anyone give me basic directions on using one or some links pertaining to that? Thanx in advance.
