Questions about used car reports

So i've been looking for a truck lately without much luck. Today I swung into a dealership near my girlfriend's house because I had time to kill while she was at work. I got out to look at a truck I liked, which was actually exactly what i've been looking for.

To make a long story short, a salesman roped me in and I took it for a test drive. Seems to be a beautiful truck in good condition.

I went in and talked with the salesman, purely because I had nothing better to do. I wasn't really intending on buying a truck. They've made me a pretty good offer, and the truck is on hold until next weekend.

I was thinking of getting a report on it from Carfax. When I put in the vin it says there are 5 records. Is this a bad sign?

If I do the single report (19.99) versus the unlimited (24.99) will I only be able to see 1/5 records?

Should I do the report at all? My girlfriend's brother is a Mazda mechanic at a dealership and he said I should demand they do a report for me. I'm not good at making demands.

What should I do?

If it's from a dealership, ask them to run the report for you.

Exactly. They should have offered when you test drove the car.

The number of reports means nothing.

the report refers to how many cars you want reports from. so you just want the one, unless you'd like to get reports down the line of other cars.

5 records could mean up to 5 different owners (including dealerships), but i've seen carfax reports that also list times when the car came into the dealer for maintenance. so it could really be anything.

Thanks for the help guys. When I went back to test drive it again with my girlfriend I asked for the report and they printed it out for me. The 5 entries were the purchase, licensing, a service entry, and a couple other normal things.
