Questions about the Logitech® Cordless MX? Duo (MX700 mouse and keyboard)?

I have heard really good things about the MX700 mouse and am looking and reducing the clutter on my desk by going for a cordless mouse and keyboard.

Having a look at logitech website the system requirements states:

Windows® 98, Windows® NT 4.0, Windows® 2000, Windows® Me, Windows® XP or Mac® OS X

from http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/details&contentid=6831&CRID=486&detail=2&countryid=19&languageid=1

Does this mean i will not be able to use this mouse and keyboard in DOS? (or if i boot with a floppy disk)?

As long as it works as a normal keyboard / mouse in Dos (or other OS'es like linux, without any of the fancy features) is fine.

Also am i reqired to use any USB ports or are just the keyboard and mouse PS/2 ports enough to get it all working?

thanks for your input. 🙂

Can't help you with the DOS question, but the base station/connector for the set can connect with either a USB port OR a PS/2 port. The mouse is great...highly recommended.

They're both basically a mouse and keyboard. The requirement of those OS is for USB support as well as the media and extra buttons on the mouse. If you use the PS/2 ports, you shouldn't have any trouble, or if you use USB ports, make sure your mobo has legacy support for USB.

I have an older Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo, they work great, actually get really good range too, the manual said 31 cm or 1 foot from the reciever, but mine works great at 5 feet. I'm not sure about the MX though they are a different beast.

I just know I really dig mousing on the couch, and surfing on the floor, having TV out pluged into my big screen makes it complete.
