So I've had this visa card since my days in college. I have never bothered to look into the details of the rewards program since I thought that the program wasn't really worth it since it'll likely take tons of points to redeem anything of value to me. Just earlier today, I noticed some points have expired. Since when did the points ever had an expiry date? I never got any notifications that the points were expiring. Is there anything that Bank of American can do to reinstate the points that expired about 48 hours ago? If so, you guys got any suggestions on what is worth redeeming the points for?

Which number do I dial to talk to Bank of America about the points that had expired?

There is nothing you can do to get expired points reinstated!
It is solely your responsibility to know when they expire and to keep track of your points!
The B of A people are not baby sitters!
Suck it in and deal with it!

Points do expire, if you haven't realized that in life than you must be young and still learning.

Hotel points, airlines, credit card points, etc.. etc.. all typically have an expiration date if they are not used/added within 12-24 months.

one of my regrets in life is that i did not start playing the credit card game earlier. i waited until like 2011 to start playing it. i've gotten so many free flights from playing it. i'm going to the florida keys at the end of february for a week all from points. i'm also in the middle of accumulating 110k southwest points (105k from bonus points) which will also give my wife free flights on southwest through 2017. once i get those 110k points, i will have to figure out which new card is the best one to get.

Actually, I've strategized this myself...

So, starting in December of 2015, you sign up for one of the Southwest cards. You get the Bonus (50k points usually) in early January of 2016. Then you immediately get the business southwest card and get another 50k points bonus. Voila - you have the Companion Pass... Now here is fun part.

When you get near December of 2017.... Do the same thing... except under your wife's name. 2 years later do it again under your name. Enjoy companion pass for life :D

i signed up for the premiere card in december and then just signed up for the plus one. both have 50k bonus points (50k for plus through referral). so i didn't need a business one.

but the thing is, in 2017, i can sign up myself, i don't need my wife to do it. you can do it 2 years for yourself after you have received the promo so in 2 years i'll be eligible again.

but maybe at the end of 2016 i'll sign my wife up for them and get 110k more points just because lol.

of course, this is if the offers stick around. surprised they have stuck around this long to be honest.
