questions about the 6800 0C (from recent BB deal)

i just recently upgraded from my 9800 pro to this 6800 OC b/c the general consensus seemed to be that it was too good of a deal to pass up. however, after looking at some benchmarks for halfife 2 at anand, i noticed that the 6800 OC wasn't even in the list. how fast is this card? is it faster than a 6600 GT? a 6800 GT? i know it definitely doesn't compare to a 6800 ultra, but i was just curious if it was worth the upgrade from my 9800 pro. also, is the stock fan/cooler good? or should i get a vga silencer equivalent like i did w/ the 9800 pro. finally, i hear of softmodding the 6800 quite a bit. since this card is overclocked, would it be beneficial to softmod? or is it already done for me? thanks in advance

I just got the same card. I can't answer most of your questions but I successfully softmodded mine and got 1,000 more points in Aquamark3 (50014 total). I'm not going to try overclocking more until I need the extra performance because I have a Dell computer with a 250 watt psu and don't want to push my luck if I don't need to.

This card usually lands somewhere in between the 6800GT and the 6600GT depending on the benchmark. This card has the same core as the 6800GT, but with 4 less active pipes, whereas the 6600GT is a completely different core. The BFG variety has a slight OC on the core from the factory, so it theoretically it should be a bit faster than most other stock 6800's. Generally, a 6800 runs for about $300, so getting a 6800 w/ HL2 for $250 AMIR, is a pretty sweet deal.
