Hey folks, need someone to clear up something for me. I am building my new system, and was considering using SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) for the Windows SWAP File and Games. Then I got wondering a few things. Can Partition Magic 8 see a SATA drive? Meaning from the boot disks, not from in windows.
Then I was also wondering if my idea makes any sense? The plan being IDE Hard Drive for the operating system(s) and the SATA for Pictures, DVD burning, Games, and windows swap file. Or would it make more sense to put the OS on the SATA drive?
The board I am using will accept SATA non-raid and in-raid. I am not wanting to do a RAID array, just wanting to use non-raid by SATA hookup.
Or should I just be normal and get 2 SATA drives ? Just wondering about how programs view the SATA hook ups? I would assume they see them the same as IDE.
Thanks for the help in advance. Apologize if I am rambling, I am suppose to be working instead of typing this.
